EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Mar 2: The arrest of an agent over the allegations of sexual harassment of a female employee in Kathua has been giving sleepless nights to many officers and employees posted in various departments, housed inside the premises of Deputy Commissioner Office Complex Kathua, as the investigation could easily expose nexus between these officials and the agent.
Early Times in its edition of November 25, 2019 had carried a detailed story about the working of the agent inside the premises of Deputy Commissioner Officer Kathua, titled “(“Tout” at DC office Kathua premises becomes talk of town. Self style service-provider claims to be felicitator for various government works).”
However, despite publication of the story, the district administration had not acted against the agent, due to reasons best known to them for the last more than 15 months, giving him free hand to do his routine work. Finally, few days back the agent was arrested by Police over the allegation of sexual harassment, a complaint filed by an employee but the arrest has been giving sleepless nights to many officials as well as employees posted in various departments, housed inside the premises of Deputy Commissioner Office Kathua.
“The arrested agent has amassed huge movable and immovable property in the last few years with active connivance of officials and employees of various departments. There was a strong nexus between the arrested “Agent” as well as the officials, who use to execute various administrative works in lieu of hefty amount and this amount had been distributed among the Agent as well as the involved officials and employees”, sources said, adding that since the arrest of the Agent, these officials have not taken a sigh of relief and have been burning midnight oil to hush up the entire matter as if the investigation would proceed, it would expose many these officials and employees, who had close nexus with the Agent.
Sources further disclosed that these employees and officials have also amassed huge property in the last few years, disproportionate to their known sources of income. “There are many employees stationed in the offices, housed inside the premises of DC office complex, who have been managing their stay in total violation of the laid down guidelines but with the help of the Agent, who had been helping in their overstay”, sources said, adding that in turn, all the involved officials, employees in the entire nexus had been enjoying fortunes.
“A high level enquiry into the sexual harassment complaint, would easily expose the agent-culture as well as officials-employees-agents nexus in the various govt departments, housed in DC office complex”, sources said.
