Desperation for power: High-command snubs J&K BJP leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 7: BJP high-command has reportedly snubbed the J&K based party leaders for showing desperation to attain power by ‘bartering national interests’. Central leadership has taken serious note of the recent demand of J&K based leaders to hold assembly elections in the Union Territory (UT) as early as possible and also to restore statehood. Reliable sources said that BJP high-command along with some experts on J&K were working on different fields to further extend the national agenda during Central rule. “Instead of following line of the high-command some J&K based party leaders are echoing in the voice of Kashmir centric parties by demanding early Assembly elections in the UT”, sources said and added that instead of conducting Assembly elections in J&K BJP high-command was more concerned over finishing its task in this region. “Some think tanks working on J&K have already cautioned that holding Assembly elections without waiting for the report of the Delimitation Commission would spoil the whole process of further integrating J&K with Indian Union”, sources said, adding, “After abrogation of Article 370, some groups are working in J&K to isolate anti-national and separatist groups”. Sources said that J&K BJP leadership is very much aware that some groups are working in different fields in J&K to expose separatist groups and fulfill nationalist agenda. “Despite knowing bigger plan of the central leadership, J&K based party leaders are showing desperation by repeatedly demanding early Assembly elections and restoration of statehood. BJP’s national general secretary and incharge of J&K, Tarun Chug has made it clear to the local leadership that strengthening nationalist forces and containing terrorism were more important than holding Assembly elections or restoring statehood. BJP high-command is very much aware that extending nationalist agenda is possible only during central rule because any democratic elected government would not allow them to fulfill their agenda. |
