SRINAGAR, Mar 10: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths following which the toll due to the virus reached 1,968. As 97 fresh cases were reported in past 24 hours the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,288.
Srinagar district reported 46 fresh cases including 14 travelers followed by Baramulla district 16 cases, Jammu district 12 cases, Budgam district six cases, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts four cases each, Kulgam district two cases and a case each in Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar & Poonch districts. Baramulla district reported two fresh deaths and one death was reported from Srinagar district.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 97 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 16 from Jammu division and 81 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,288. Also three COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 54 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including seven from Jammu division and 47 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,288 positive cases, 899 are active positive, 1, 24,421 have recovered and 1,968 have died; 729 in Jammu division and 1,239 in Kashmir division.
Out of 54, 62,245 test results available, 53, 34,957 samples have tested negative till date.
Till date 13, 69,145 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 31,821 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 899 in isolation and 1, 13,019 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 21,438 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,405 positive cases, 425 active positive, 26,517 recovered, 463 deaths; Baramulla has 8,359 positive cases, 90 active positive, 8,092 recovered, 177 deaths; Budgam has 7,946 positive cases, 53 active positive, 7,773 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,894 positive cases, 41 active positive, 5,762 recovered, 91 deaths; Kupwara has 5,705 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,593 recovered, 97 deaths.
“Anantnag has 5,067 positive cases, 32 active positive, 4,947 recovered, 88 deaths; Bandipora has 4,722 positive cases, 13 active positive, 4,647 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,684 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4,619 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,745 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,677 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,615 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,561 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,349 positive cases, 151 active positive, 24,821 recovered, 377 deaths; Udhampur has 4,319 positive cases, four active positive, 4,258 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,877 positive cases, one active positive, 3,821 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,440 positive cases, two active positive, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,269 positive cases, nine active positive, 3,207 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,841 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,794 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, one active positive, 2,716 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,528 positive cases, eight active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,649 positive cases, one active positive, 1,632 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,288 positive cases, 12,558 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
