POONCH, Mar 10: The Public Works Department and other departments have been allegedly executing development works in bulk in the month of March just to save funds from getting lapsed due to which the quality of works is being compromised. Sources told Early Times that in March there has been spurt in development works across the Poonch by PWD, PMGSY just for the sake of paper works so that most of the payments are released which have been released by the government.
It is very shocking that negligible development works are executed the rest of the financial year and as soon as the month of March comes, these departments allot a number of development works in a hush manner and no quality control is taken care of, they added.
The local residents demanded that detailed inquiry of all such works should be conducted so that factual position might come fore. Executive Engineer PWD Poonch when contacted said that all works are allotted through e-tendering and ruled out any violation.
