Review draft excise policy 2021: CF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12: Citizen’s Forum has requested Jitendra Singh & Lg. Manoj Sinha to review the draft Excise Policy 2021. We understand that the new policy envisaged will increase the financial earnings of the government but government will be making lakhs of workers out of jobs in the process. The wine trade is running smoothly for ages in J&K particularly in Jammu region exclusively and the funds are used for the entire state. Some irregularities in allotment of licences were there. R K Chadha president of Citizen’s Forum said this action will bring rich businessmen from outside the state for bidding and bringing their own workers to handle the intricacies of security and Excise involvement to safe guard their investment, thus loosing maximum jobs for locals. This way you it can’t stop a person with enormous filthy money to bid for number of liquor vends for himself under the guise of domicile certificate which will be managed very easily. The depressed business condition of J&K UT is an open secret and even Finance Ministry and RBI are trying to bring some pep-up the financial condition of the people. R K Chadha said there are many ways to increase the excise revenue , by continuing the same old policy for few more years till business in Jammu is settled to normal and inventing new methods of increasing sales and revenue. Allow sale and drinking of beer open at all food Tabbas and joints which already is a regular feature but illegal , will increase the sale and revenue and a good proposal for tourist visiting this UT.
