Rajouri, Mar 12: A ‘powerful’ Junior Engineer in Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in Sunderbani and local residents of Sunderbani Sub Division of district Rajouri has been sitting in one place for the last ten years due to his strong connections in higher ups. Shockingly, despite giving written complaints to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri in public darbar about the overstaying of Junior Engineer and his mal practice but no action has been taken by the concerned department till date which clearly indicates about his connections in higher authority who have been shielding this officer. “DC Rajouri had directed the senior PHE official to conduct inquiry into this matter and submission of the reports to his office but the department had not sent any inquiry reports to the DC Office,” they alleged.
Sources told Early Times that although transfers of several Junior Engineers were held recently in the district but he remained untouched from this transfer order. Not only this, even JE provided undue benefits to his relatives, friends and other blue eyed by allotting them departmental works and got benefit out of it.
He has given water supply connections to his close relative and friend directly from the main gravity supply pipe line in Madwal village, which is totally prohibited. He had also provided connections from dug well.
Chief Engineer PHE Jammu when contacted, he said that he had taken the note of the matter and assured that he will be transferred in next transfers. |
