JAMMU, Mar 12: In the ongoing Champions Trophy, a match was played between Akhnoor Veterans and Jammu Sports Veterans at GHSS Akhnoor. The toss was won by Akhnoor Veterans which elected to bat first. Akhnoor Veterans scored 117/10 in 20 Overs. Palla Sharma 27(26), Sonu Malhotra 21(30), Mall Ditta 21(19), Vinod Kumar 21(22) were top scorers among Akhnoor Veterans. From Jammu Sports Club Shera got 4 Wickets, Sham Singh Langeh got 3 Wickets, Rajnish and Lucky Shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target Jammu sports veterans managed to score 119/8 in 24.2 Overs with Sham Singh Langeh 24(32), Lucky 23(19), Shera 16(11), Ajay16 (19) as top contributors. From Akhnoor Veterans Sonu Malhotra and Deepak Sharma shared 3 Wickets each while shindi got 1 wicket. Sham Singh Langeh was judged man of the match for his all-round performance.
Rakesh Malhotra, Councillor was the chief guest and Shamsher Singh (General Secretary Press Club of Akhnoor) was guest of honor. They both appreciated the efforts of Sham Singh Langeh and Mukesh Sharma for organizing the matches in all categories in Akhnoor and Jammu.
