| SLCA organizes workshop on drugs, alcohol abuse | | | 
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 19: J&K State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) a agency working under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GOI, has organized day-long workshop on Drugs/ Alcohol Abuse Prevention for workers of Municipal Corporation/ Safai karmchari Jammu. The objective of this camp is to generate awareness among the Municipal Coropration , workers and Helpers on ill effects of drug abuse. JKSPYM in its recent survey found that drug abuse is in rise in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and every activity pertaining to curb the addiction is much required now days.
More than 50 people including Safai Karmachri union leaders, workers and Helpers participated in the program and got benefitted from it. Main activities of the program were to awareness regarding the drug abuse and treatment. Pamphlets having message on Ill effects of drug use and information regarding rehabilitation center printed in local language is also distributed. J&K SLCA mentioned that the NGO JKSPYM is actively involved in drug use treatment among drug users since last 20 years.
