Tourism projects around Katra would be explored fully: Ajay Kumar

Katra, Mar 19: While speaking in a programme organised by Hotel & Restaurant Association,Katra, newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ajay Kumar in response to the demand of the Association that projects like Rope ways at Shiv Khori,Katra to Shanker Acharya,Water Park on the lines of Essel World at Jhajjar Kotli,Light and sound on the history of Maa Vaishnodevi ji be expedited on Public-Private Partnership for which investors are ready to invest and waiting from the response of the government and Katra and around has potential of attracting investment in thousands of crores, be expedited on war footing, he said that every effort will be made to utilize the full potential of visiting more than one crore Yatries of Vaishnodevi ji by increasing their stay and by doing the activities as has been suggested by the Association so that major employment avenues are generated over here and economy of the area is up lifted.
Indu Kanwal Chib while speaking on the occasion elaborated her experience of her tenure as Deputy Commissioner Reasi and said that her tenure over here was good and she got full support of the public and her tenure over here will remain in her mind for years and years to come and further said that it was really good experience to work in a district which has the privilege of having wholly Shrine of Vaishnodevi ji in it. Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that time has come wherein Private investment by way of Public Private partnership are required to be explored in big way and tenders for Private investment in the projects like Rope ways, Amusement Parks, Light & Sound programmes, Educational Institutions, Health Resorts etc. be called for so that these projects may start functioning shortly and it be ensured that projects which may add on to the Tourism of the Union Territory and increase the stay of Yatries and provide employment opportunities to the area be expedited. Jugal Kishore Sharma emphasized for popularizing the Parikarma of Maa Vaishnodevi Shrine hill project and requested the newly Deputy Commissioner, Reasi for his help too in bringing this circuit on Tourism map and making it a pilgrimage circuit so that Travel Agents in other states/pilgrims may add it on in their itinerary. Pawan Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that Vaishnodevi Yatra adds on to 12000 crore in the economy of UT and said that if channelised fully it can do miracles in improving the economy of the Union Territory and in providing employment to the state and said that this can only be done if places around Katra are popularized besides equipping them infrastructural.
