Mahila Congress holds protest against BJP government | | | Early Times Report
Kathua , Mar 19: Continue its protest against unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities, especially in the fuel prices, Mahila Congress on Friday held massive protest at Kathua against BJP led NDA government at the Centre. The protest was organized under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress president and former MLA Indu Pawar. District Mahila Congress President Ms. Veena Devi has organized the protest in which large number of party activities participated. Carrying placards in their hands, Mahila Congress activists shouted slogans against BJP government for its failure to control prices of the essential commodities. Addressing the agitating workers, Indu Pawar regretted that the Union government has made life of ‘Aam Aadmi' miserable by increasing fuel and LPG prices. She said that women were the worst victims of the pro-corporate policies being shamelessly pursued by the Union Government by putting unbearable burden on the common man. “Due to the wrong policies of the government, inflation is sky-rocketing and there is no relief to people. Domestic budget of common man has been disturbed for which the UPA government is solely responsible,” she said. Pawar reminded that controlling inflation and ushering ‘Achhe Din were the major poll planks of the BJP leaders but after attaining power party was protecting interests of only corporate world. “The BJP had proved itself as the party of the rich and the corporate without bothering for the woes and sufferings of the poor and middle class people. It was eliminating poor and not the poverty”, she said. |
