DSS welcomes decision to keep Mini Secretarial functional at Jammu 4/2/2021 11:28:08 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 2: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) has welcomed the decision to keep a Mini Secretarial functional at Jammu and reduce the quantum of record required to be shifted to Srinagar as a result of e-governance initiatives taken by the Government. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and president DSS, however, emphasised that it is essential that functionaries at a sufficiently higher level in each administrative department continue to function at Jammu to attend to the problems of the people who virtually feel abandoned during these six months, as it is difficult for the people of Jammu to go to Srinagar for the follow up of urgent issues. He said that such technology is already available that if the matters pertaining to Jammu Province are processed in the Secretariat here, the approval/final orders of the Advisors and/or the Lieutenant Governor can be obtained on line even when they move to Srinagar. By keeping the Secretariat fully functional at both Jammu as well as Srinagar, the people of both the provinces of the Union Territory will have the means available, round the year, for resolution of their problems. Charak also welcomed the steps taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board by imposing an interim Environmental compensation of Rs 2 crores to check the illegal and unscientific dumping and disposal of muck during the 4-laning of the National Highway from Udhampur to Banihal by the National Highway Authority of India. He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to look into the matter personally so that further damage and destruction can be avoided, and work on the project is carried out in a planned manner without affecting the inhabitants, the tourism potential and the Environment of the area adversely.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
