Infighting in Cong: Three Azad loyalists likely to get notices soon
4/3/2021 12:02:34 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 2: After getting high command’s nod J&K Congress is going to serve show-cause notice to three senior leaders of the party- who owe their allegiance with former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Reliable sources said that decision to issue notices was taken in the month of February but the same was delayed due to campaign launched by the party against hike in fuel prices. “During the last one month, Congress has launched campaign BJP government at the Centre so most of the leaders were busy in organizing rallies in different parts of J&K”, sources said and added that campaign has been concluded on March 31 so very soon action will be taken.
Sources said that instead of taking action against all loyalists of Azad, the party leadership has decided to first serve notices to senior leaders of the same faction. “In first installment notices would be served to three senior leaders who are former ministers”, sources said and revealed that all the three leaders belong to different districts of Jammu province.
Sources said that party leadership has prepared a strong ground to serve notices to these leaders because they have been boycotting official functions for the last nearly six months. “As part of on-going campaign of the party against hike in fuel prices, protest rallies were organized in the respective districts of all the three leaders but they remained absent from the programmes given by the central leadership”, sources said and added that notices were the first step to take action against Azad loyalists.
During her five day stay in J&K, AICC incharge of the party, Rajni Patil convened meetings of different districts to seek opinion of the workers on this issue. Even Azad loyalists were called in these meetings to seek their opinion but they preferred to stay away from meetings of AICC incharge.
“Patil has also taken very serious note of the attitude of Azad loyalists who organized parallel meetings just to flex their muscles”, sources said, adding, “Patil has asked J&K Congress chief G A Mir to seek clarification from these leaders for boycotting the meeting”.
