Pak Flip-Flop

Pakistan putting a pre-condition for resumption of trade ties with India is an indication that it won’t stop interfering in Jammu and Kashmir.
Two days ago Pakistan finance minister Hammad Azhar had announced that the private sector can import sugar and cotton from India. He had stated that the decision was taken to improve supplies and discourage price hike in Pakistan.
On the very next day, Pakistan cabinet during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan turned down a government committee’s decision to import sugar, cotton and cotton yarn from India, stating there can be no trade with India until the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is restored.
It seems that Pakistan is still obsessed with J&K and its assertion that it wants to “forget the past and move ahead” is just rhetoric aimed at hoodwinking the international community.
Pakistan leadership talking about Article 370 is not acceptable. The neighbouring country has got nothing to do with it. The J&K is an integral part of India and it will remain so and no power on earth can snatch it. The GoI by scrapping J&K’s special status has bitten the bullet and the issue has been settled once for all.
Pakistan leadership should bear it in mind that India is not asking it to resume trade ties with it the proposal had come from their foreign minister. India’s foreign policy is clear that terror and talks cannot go together and no discussion can be held on Kashmir. Ball is in the court of Pakistan, if it wants to remain at war with India then nothing will change.
Since the day DGMOs of India and Pakistan have announced ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), no truce violations have taken place. But by talking about Kashmir again and again, Pakistan has made its intentions clear our neighbor wants to keep the conflict alive by raking up Kashmir.
After J&K’s special status was revoked Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, knocked the door of every country to seek support but the entire world, including the Muslim countries closed all the doors at him and made it clear that J&K is India’s internal issue and no one can interfere in it. Despite facing rejection from every side, Pakistan is once again trying to bring Kashmir into limelight, if Pakistan really wants things to move on it should prove its sincerity and stop indulging in rhetoric.
