Swarnim Vijay Mashaal reaches Gateway of India | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Apr 3: The 'Swarnim Vijay Mashaal' (victory torch) lit for the year-long 50th-anniversary celebration of the 1971 India-Pakistan war reached Jammu and Kashmir today. As the nation celebrates 'Swarnim Vijay Varsh'- Golden Jubilee of the iconic and spectacular victory of Indian Armed Forces in the Indo-Pak War of 1971, The Basohli Military Station of Indian Army located near Lakhanpur of district Kathua on Saturday hosted the victory torch, which was lighted earlier at National War Memorial in Delhi. The "Victory Mashal" was received by Brigadier Manoj Kharakbal along with other dignitaries present on the occasion at Military Station Basohli. The Mashal would be placed till April 7th at the Armoury of Arsenal Brigade, while during the period various programmes would be organized at various places. These programmes include cultural programmes by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Lakhanpur, Army Public School Janglote to be showcased before the war heroes and Vir Naris. |
