BJP J&K president; MP, other leaders violate COVID-19 norms | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3: J&K BJP leaders were caught on a wrong foot on Saturday as they were seen posing for a photograph without following COVID-19 norms at Poonch. Overlooking COVID-19 SOPs amid surge in number of Corona cases, BJP leaders including state president Ravinder Raina, Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Jugal Kishore and other leaders were seen without facemask and not maintaining social distancing while posing for photographs. “Though administration allowed the gathering of BJP leaders, it was the duty of BJP leaders to avoid wearing a giant garland. They publicly violated COVID SOPs. They have set a wrong precedence,” said a local resident. In the photographs, the leaders as well as workers could be seen standing, touching each other in total violation of social-distancing norms. Moreover, none of the leaders had covered their face with masks. All this was arranged by the BJP leaders in total violation of the norms and that too at a time, when the COVID-19 infections are increasing. “Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as other senior leaders have not been holding such meetings but these J&K leaders have been organizing such programmes to make their presence felt,” said another resident. |
