| DB directs Sr AAG to file fresh ATR regarding establishment of dumping ground for garbage | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 3: A division bench of Jammu & Kashmir High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul directed B. A. Dar, Sr. AAG to submit a fresh action taken report regarding the establishment of the dumping ground for the garbage and for cleaning and lifting of the garbage from the town of Sopore.
He may file the report within one month supported by affidavit of the Deputy Commissioner himself. This order has been passed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Central Auqaf Committee Tarzoo for creating dumping place for the garbage and for adequate cleaning of the waste and garbage from the Sopore town.
The District Legal Services Authority vide its report dated 8th February 2021 has suggested three places for establishing dumping ground for the garbage, but probably nothing has been done to establish the dumping ground nor any steps have been taken by the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the Municipal Corporation works effectively for lifting the garbage. The bench granted one month to file fresh action taken report. |
