Admin showing non-seriousness for COVID positive passengers at Lakhanpur | People crossing over border escaping mandatory test | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9: It seems that administration is not so much serious about positive cases appearing during testing of passengers for COVID-19 at Lakhanpur as despite giving instruction to people with positive cases to quarantine themselves at home, they have been escaping to cross over the border by dodging securities. Sources said that although the government has imposed night curfew in eight districts including Kathua, Jammu etc but the same is not enough to curb spread of the COVID cases and day curfew is also necessary. The people going to Delhi from Jammu are subjected to undergo COVID test at Lakhapur but it has been seen that the passengers, who test positive are just given instruction to return to home and keep themselves in home quarantine but on the contrary many dodge security and instructions cross manage to cross over the border with the help of agents. “More shocking part is that no follow-up is made of the people, who are tested positive just to ensure whether they have been following SOPs by keeping themselves in home quarantine or not. Even the mandatory equipment like oximeters are also not given to COVID positive patients. The passengers who are declared positive should be kept under the observation of administration,” said social activists, Dr Sukhvinder Singh and Kapil. SSP Kathua, when contacted, said that there is an arrangement of 70 people for putting them under quarantine. He further appealed to the people particularly tourists coming to Jammu to drop their plan in the wake of rising cases of COVID. |
