GDC Kotranka organizes inter-college sports meet

KOTRANKA, Apr 9: To commemorate 75 years of Indian independence under the theme “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsov”, Govt Degree College (GDC) Kotranka organized an inter-college sports meet. In this event Inter-colleges matches in cricket, Volley Ball and badminton were played. The event was inaugurated by Dr Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college. While speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the initiative taken by the sports committee of the college in organizing this meet. He said that games are very important part of academic life of students and it helps in over all development of the students. He added that the college is planning to organize year long sports and academic activities to celebrate the 75 years of India’s independence as “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
The winner of the Cricket, Volley Ball and Badminton was GDC Budhal while runner up of all the matches was GDC Kotranka. On this occasion, Dr Mohd Mushtaq, Convener Sports Committee along with other faculty members were present. This sports meet was coordinated by Waheed Khan, Lecturer in Sociology. The teams from GDC Budhal were accompanied by Dr Pinky Sharma, PTI.
The prize distribution ceremony was held in the college campus in which, Dr Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college distributed the prizes among the winners and runner ups and congratulated the participants.The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Mohd Mushtaq, Convener Sports Committee of the college.
