Two LeT militant associates arrested in Baramulla; arms, ammunition recovered | | | Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Apr 12: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two Lashker-e-Toiba Over Ground Workers (OGW) in this north Kashmir district on Monday. In a statement, police said that on 11th April Police Station Kreeri received reliable information that Bashir Ahmed Bhat son of Late Ghulam Mohd Bhat resident of Mirangund Kreeri and Waseem Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir resident of Authoora Kreeri are instigating and motivating youth of the Kreeri area to join the militant ranks for increasing the militant activities for which the aforesaid person have managed to procure some grenades and other arms and ammunition. The statement further stated that the duo were nabbed during the search operation and two Chinese grenades and 20 Live AK 47 rounds were recovered from their possession. Case under relevant laws have been registered and both have been arrested, reads the statement. Pertinently on April 10, Police had busted a Lashker-e-Toiba network that was believed to be behind the attack on Municipal Councilors and Police that were recently killed in Sopore town of this north Kashmir district. Two municipal councilors and a cop were killed in Sopore town, after which multiple CASO's were launched by Sopore Police along with other security forces at suspected locations Dangepora, Brath Kalan, Sidiq Colony Sopore, Model Town and Batpora. |
