SRINAGAR, Apr 12: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 991 new cases of Corona Virus in the past 24 hours following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 39,381; the union territory reported no fresh virus related death.
Srinagar district reported 303 cases including 56 travelers followed by Jammu district 181 cases, Udhampur district 160 cases including 157 travelers, Reasi district 97 cases including 85 travelers, Kathua district 55 cases including 54 travelers, Baramulla district 53 cases, Budgam district 31 cases, Pulwama district 30 cases, Anantnag district 25 cases, Kupwara district 22 cases, Ganderbal district 12 cases, Kulgam district 10 cases, Samba district four cases, Bandipora and Shopian district three cases each and Rajouri & Ramban districts one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 991 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 499 from Jammu division and 492 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 39,381.
Moreover, 418 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 43 from Jammu division and 375 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 39,381 positive cases, 7,908 are active positive, 1, 29,439 have recovered and 2,034 have died; 752 in Jammu division and 1,282 in Kashmir division.
Out of 65, 36,949 test results available, 63, 97,568 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 16, 17,669 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 64,789 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,908 in isolation and 1, 31,003in home surveillance. Besides, 14, 11,935 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 32,215 positive cases, 2,833 active positive, 28,902 recovered, 480 deaths; Baramulla has 9,797 positive cases, 805 active positive, 8,809 recovered, 183 deaths; Budgam has 8,636 positive cases, 376 active positive, 8,137 recovered, 123 deaths; Pulwama has 6,139 positive cases, 193 active positive, 5,854 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 6,033 positive cases, 212 active positive, 5,723 recovered, 98 deaths.
"Anantnag has 5,410 positive cases, 211 active positive, 5,101 recovered, 98 deaths; Bandipora has 4,889 positive cases, 115 active positive, 4,711 recovered, 63 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,810 positive cases, 80 active positive, 4,681 recovered, 49 deaths; Kulgam has 3,031 positive cases, 225 active positive, 2,750 recovered, 56 deaths and Shopian has 2,719 positive cases, 70 active positive, 2,609 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 27,398 positive cases, 1,582 active positive, 25,425 recovered, 391 deaths; Udhampur has 4,751 positive cases, 384 active positive, 4,309 recovered, 58 deaths; Rajouri has 3,953 positive cases, 61 active positive, 3,836 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 3,561 positive cases, 161 active positive, 3,347 recovered, 53 deaths; Doda has 3,501 positive cases, 45 active positive, 3,392 recovered, 64 deaths.
"Samba has 2,943 positive cases, 82 active positive, 2,818 recovered, 43 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,787 positive cases, 31 active positive, 2,734 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,583 positive cases, 39 active positive, 2,518 recovered, 26 deaths; Ramban has 2,179 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,139 recovered, 23 deaths and Reasi has 2,046 positive cases, 386 active positive, 1,644 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 39,381 positive cases, 15,222 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
