JK reports 1526 new positive cases, 133168 recovered so far

JAMMU, Apr 18: The Government on Sunday informed that 1526 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19),547from Jammu division and 979from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 146692.Also 06 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 03 from Jammu Division and 03 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 963 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 541 from Jammu Division and 422 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 146692 positive cases, 11467 are Active Positive, 133168 have recovered and 2057have died; 764 in Jammu division and 1293 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 6760101test results available, 6613409 samples have been tested as negative till 18thApril, 2021.
Till date 1668454 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 70076 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 11467 in isolation and 127861in home surveillance. Besides, 1456993 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 34690 positive cases (including 520 cases reported today) with 4124 Active Positive, 30080recovered (including 253 cases recovered today), 486 deaths; Baramulla has 10461 positive cases (including 122 cases reported today)with 1065Active Positive, 9212recovered (including 73 cases recovered today), 184 deaths; Budgam reported 8978 positive cases (including 70 cases reported today)with 479 active positive cases, 8376 recovered (including 41cases recovered today), 123 deaths; Pulwama has 6351 positive cases (including 76 cases reported today)with 316 Active Positive, 5942 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today)and 93 deaths; Kupwara has 6154 positive cases (including 23 cases reported today), 251 Active Positive, 5805recoveries (including 10 cases recovered today), 98 deaths; Anantnag district has 5604 positive cases (including 50 cases reported today)with 314 Active Positive, 5190 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 100 deaths; Bandipora has 5004 positive cases (including44 cases reported today), with161Active Positive and 4780 recoveries, 63 deaths; Ganderbal has 4920 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today)with 162 Active Positive, 4709 recoveriesand49deaths; Kulgam has 3188 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today)with 242 Active Positive, 2889recoveries (including 19 cases recovered today)and 57 deaths while as Shopian has 2758 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today),99 active positive cases, 2619 recoveriesand 40 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 28789 positive cases (including 299 cases reported today) with 2561 active positive cases, 25828recoveries (including 77 cases recovered today), 400 deaths; Udhampur has 5180 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today), 186active positive cases, 4936 recoveries (including 419 cases recovered today)and58 deaths; Rajouri has 4084 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today)with 172active positive, 3856 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today)and 56 deaths; Doda has 3532 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today)with41Active positive, 3427 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today)and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3769 positive cases (including 51 cases reported today), 270 active positive cases, 3446 recovered(including 24 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths; Kishtwar has 2804 positive caseswith 17 Active Positive, 2765 recoveriesand22 deaths; Samba has 3064 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today)with 191 active positive cases, 2830 recoveriesand 43 deaths; Poonch has 2635 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today)with80active positive, 2526recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today)and 29 deaths; Rambanhas 2230 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today)with49 active positive cases, 2158 recoveries (including 12 cases recovered today)and 23 deaths while Reasi has 2497 positive (including 88 cases reported today)with 687 active positive cases, 1794 recoveriesand 16 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 146692 positive cases in J&K, 16776have been reported as travelers while 129916 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1109 COVID dedicated beds, 972 Isolation beds with 767 vacant beds and 137 ICU beds where 81 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 1511 COVID dedicated beds, 1400 Isolation beds where 972 beds are vacant and 112 ICU beds where 88are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 2620 COVID dedicated beds, 2372 Isolation beds with 1739 beds vacant and 249 ICU beds with 169vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google play store.
Besides, 24x7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.
Meanwhile, a 24x7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
