| One held with 4 litres of illicit liquor, 180 kg lahan destroyed | | |

KISHTWAR, Apr 18: Police today destroyed 180 liters of lahan and seized 4 liters of illicit desi liquor while booked one person from Lava Sarthal involved in distillation and sale of illicit liquor.
According to police sources, on the basis of specific tip-off a party of Police Post Sarthal headed by PSI Shunag Tagtora launched a massive manhunt in village Lava of Sarthal Kishtwar and recovered 4 liters of desi liquor while 180 liters of lahan was also destroyed. The accused person namely Baid Raj, son of Lassu of Lava Sarthal has been arrested for the offences under Indian Penal Code. The recovered illicit desi liquor along with the distillation material used for preparing desi liquor were seized on the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 64/2021 under section 48 (A) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation set into motion. |
