JKNPP urges LG to bring Ramban, Banihal on tourism map

RAMBAN, Apr 18: JKNPP leader and PTU General Secretary, Sewa Singh Bali has urged upon the Lt Governor and his Administration to bring areas of Ramban, Banihal on the tourism map.
Reiterating his party's decade long demand to lay down necessary road connectivity in Ramban district for generating infrastructure for tourism hub, he said that the Prime Minister of India and his government has already sanctioned necessary funds for development in the area in 2016, but no serious action has been taken till date.
Talking to media persons here today, Sewa Singh Bali PTU General Secretary and State Chief Shri Amarnath Yatra Welfare Society welcomed the start of Yatra registration and asked District Administration Ramban to complete the construction/development of park in Ukhral, Ramban Tehsil, foundation stone of which was laid down by the then Chief Justice of India and son of the soil Thakur Tirath Singh in 2016. The owner pf the land Romel Singh has not been given any price or compensation for it by the concerned authorities, he added.
Bali demanded immediate completion of park project at Ukhral and start work on construction of much needed road connectivity between Ukhral, Sargali, Sharwadadhar, Sunseri, Malinsar, Neeltop, Mahumangat of Banihal area on priority without further delay.
He said that there are vast meadows, greenery, natural water bodies, mountains and forests which can be best developed as tourist attraction spots.
Bali requested the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to order creation of necessary tourism infrastructure in Ramban, Gool, Banihal, Batote, Bhaderwah so that the local youth get employment opportunities which is need of the hour.
