| Intra-college slogan writing competition held | | |

Jammu, Apr 23: Eco-Club of Government Degree College Sidhra under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma organized an online Intra-college slogan writing competition to commemorate “Earth Day 2021” under the banner of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.
The theme of Earth Day 2021 is “Restore Our Earth”, which was also the theme of the slogan writing competition.
The main aim behind celebrating this day is to raise awareness about critical issues that the Earth is facing and focusing on natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystem.The ECO-Club of the college tried to the best of the efforts to make students aware of this important event and ensure their participation.
The participants were judged by Dr. Harpreet Kour, Head Department of Political Science and Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Head Department of Urdu of the College. First position was secured by Toufeeq Umar of B.A Sem I while Balkrishan Nakotra (B.Com Sem I) and Waqar Ahmed (B.A Sem I) were adjudged at second position. The third position was shared by Anamika Verma, Karsoom Akhtar and Rupali Aithmian all of B.A Sem I of the college.
Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma congratulated the meritorious students as well as the student participants for their participation in the event with full enthusiasm. The event was organized by Dr. Anshu Gupta, convener Eco-Club and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences of the college.
