Jammu, Apr 23: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has sought details of the illegal constructions being carried out around Katra Railway Station. In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) the Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir HC Jammu Wing comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal, directed Sr. AAG SS Nanda to inform the court as about the total number of cases pertaining to the illegal constructions around the Railway Station Katra. The DB directed the Senior AAG to inform about the action taken against the unauthorised constructions on the agricultural land. When the PIL came-up for hearing the DB observed that it has come on record that against the action taken against the encroachers for the removal of aforesaid unauthorized constructions proceedings were initiated before the Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal where the matters are sub-judice. In addition to above, it has also come on record that there are about 71 encroachers on the agricultural land. The Court observed that “Senior AAG has placed reliance upon status report dated 01.09.2020 but we do not find anything from the said report except for a list appended to it disclosing the matters pending before the Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal.” |
