Ramban, Apr 23: Continuing its war against drugs, the Ramban Police, in the first case of its kind, has arrested one person for cultivating Opium/Poppy illegally under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chanderkote. On receiving specific information regarding cultivation of banned Opium/Poppy at Peerah, a special team led by SHO, Chanderkote, Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary and PSI, Ankush Bhau rushed to the spot and found one person cultivating Opium/Poppy on his private land at Peerah. The accused person has been identified as Hakikat Singh son of Suram Chand resident of Peerah, Ramban. The entire operation was conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Chanderkote,s Sh. Saif-Ullah Shah and under the direct supervision of SSP Ramban PD Nitya and Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma. On the direction of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class the Opium/Poppy cultivation was destroyed immediately and a case FIR 42/2021 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused person. The Ramban Police urged the public to support police in its war against drugs and provide information to the nearest police station. |
