DSEJ organises Webinar on PMSSS

JAMMU, Apr 28: Counselling Cell of Directorate of School Education Jammu organised a webinar on Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme to create awareness among the students, specifically those studying in class 12th.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr.Ravi Shankar Sharma was the chief guest and Prof.( Dr.) Ajeet Angral, Consultant PMSSS UT of Jammu& Kashmir and UT of Ladakh was the key Resource Person.
The webinar was live on Facebook and it was attended by senior school students, parents, nodal officers PMSSS and HOIs of Higher Secondary Schools through zoom too. It benefitted more than 15,000 stakeholders.
PMSSS is a scholarship scheme for students having domicile of Jammu and Kashmir. Under the PMSSS scheme, the youths of J&K and Ladakh are supported by way of scholarship in two parts namely the academic fee and maintenance allowance. Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma emphasised on creating awareness among students about different pre and post Matric scholarship schemes and ensure that no deserving student is left behind without availing the opportunity. He said that a series of programmes will be organised for this. Timely taken measures will be effective and will bring fruitful results, he added.
Prof. Ajeet Angral highlighted the salient features of PMSSS Scheme and awared all the stakeholders about its brief history, objectives, eligibility criteria, points to be considered, know and how of this scheme, etc. He satisfied different queries raised by the participants.
Romesh Sharma Head Counselling Cell DSEJ laid stress on organisation of such awareness sessions and expressed the commitment of Counselling Cell DSEJ to serve the society in best possible manner.
Dr. Alka Sharma conducted the proceedings of the webinar.
Dr. Surinder Sharma, Counsellor Shanti Saroop Sharma, Preeti Sharma and Manan Mahajan , Team Members Counselling Cell DSEJ helped in the smooth conduct of the proceedings. Sohail Wani provided technical support in the webinar.
