Civil military liaison meeting held at Poonch

POONCH, Apr 28: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet, convened a meeting to review the issues pertaining to the Army in the district.
The officers who attended the meeting included Station Headquarter 93 Infantary Brigade C/O 56 APO, Station Headquarter 10 Infantry Brigade C/o 56 APO, Assistant defence estates officer Rajouri, Tehsildar Haveli, Tehsildar Surankote, Tehsildar Mankote and deputy Custodian Evacuee property Poonch.
At the outset, all the land issues pertaining to the district along with the security scenario in the backdrop of ceasefire were thoroughly discussed upon. The Deputy Commissioner asked for expediting the pending mutation cases of all those lands which were in lawful possession of Army establishments. He took a serious note of pending land hiring cases. He argued for joint verification by both civil and military authorities of all defence lands whose cases are still unsettled. He also argued for timely demarcation of all such lands with a complete record of revenue extracts for future reference. Timeline for all such actions has been fixed for regular monitoring.
Seeking a quick action, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Revenue Officers concerned to regularly follow the pending land cases with Army authorities for their early disposal. He also asked Army authorities to maintain cordial relations with the civilians to facilitate better coordination and understanding in matters of land and construction. He also suggested to ease the process of granting NOCs to the Army for construction purposes in Army land.
The DC also batted for frequent Civil Military meetings as a confidence building measure and timely disposal of land cases. He asked the Defence Estates Officer to resolve all the cases in consultation with the district administration.
Army authorities also assured that no stone will be left unturned to facilitate the day to day activities in the border areas and also people friendly measures will be taken up to ease the restrictions coming in the way of developmental activities of the local population residing in border areas.
