Tajinder urges people to get vaccinated, follow preventive measures
4/28/2021 11:35:18 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 28: As J&K registers new records in the daily surge of COVID-19 infections, renowned social and political activist Tajinder Singh urged the people to strictly abide by the preventive measures.
Tajinder said the increase was primarily driven by a significant increase in social gatherings during the holiday season, such as restaurants, crowds at markets, weddings, shopping malls and outdoor activities. He said COVID-19 is a deadly disease impacting the health of individuals, their livelihoods and the economy. It will only decrease if individuals and all public and private sectors abide by preventive measures strictly and consistently.
We have reached a tipping point in our year-long fight against COVID19, the virus is spreading like wildfire and is weighing heavily making people’s life unbearable on different fronts, Tajinder said. Tajinder appealed to the J&K UT administration to increase the number of beds in district hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir UT in view of the ongoing situation and appeal to double the vaccination centres in all districts of J&K UT. "Misinformation and disinformation is putting the health and lives at risk, we should have to trust our institutions and in health systems, false information through social media is creating much misunderstanding," he said.
“I appeal to the people to double check the messages with facts which are forwarded in social media, we need to prevent, detect and respond to it, together and in solidarity,” he added.
