Poonch, May 3: A revenue official deputed as magistrate in Poonch district is allegedly misusing his powers on the pretext of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
“A Naib Tehsildar deputed as magistrate is violating norms and harassing people during the Covid times,” alleged a source. “He first seizes the vehicles and then releases them on recommendations,” the source alleged further.
He said, “People who are not influential cannot get their vehicles released.”
The source said in some cases FIRs have also been lodged against few vehicle owners for violating the sops. “Law should be same for all, but this officer is using different yardsticks to treat people,” he added.
When contacted ADC Poonch Dr Basharat Hussain Inqalabi assured that the matter will be investigated and strict action will be taken after thorough investigation. |
