Prof Chaman Lal Gupta’s demise widely mourned

JAMMU, May 18: The sudden demise of former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has been widely mourned.
Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed his grief on the demise of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta.
In a condolence message, Ghulam Nabi Azad has conveyed his heartfelt to the family members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
“Prof Gupta was a senior scholarly leader of BJP who lived a very simple life. He served the people of J&K as MLA, MP and Union Minister. As Union Minister he maintained a very good rapport with the people and other political leaders across party lines. He had the distinction of being the first Union Minister of BJP from J&K state during Atalji’s Govt,” said Azad.
“My heartfelt condolences. I pray almighty to give strength and courage to his son Anil Gupta and other family members to bear this irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in peace,” added Azad.
CPI (M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta who passed away in Jammu on Tuesday. Late Prof Chaman Lal Gupta worked hard for the upliftment of the common people, said Tarigami, while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has deeply condoled the sad demise of Former Union Minister and Veteran politician and senior BJP Leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta today morning.
In a condolence message, JKPCC President G A Mir and others senior Leaders have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta who led the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time and played a great role in the political history of the erstwhile state. He represented people in the state legislature several times and played the role of a vibrant opposition besides representing Jammu and Kashmir in the Lok Sabha and in the union council of ministers and rendered valuable services in the democratic set up, said Mir.
The PCC leaders deeply mourned his death and conveyed to condolences the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu mourned the demise of former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta.
In a condolence meeting held here at Chamber House, the CCI team mourned the tragic death of the veteran leader.
During the meeting, the CCI Team said that sudden demise of Chaman Lal Gupta has given a great shock to people of J&K. They said that the passing away of Chaman Lal Gupta has created a deep void, which can never be filled, and the business and entrepreneurial community of J&K will always remember him for his vivid and pioneering personality.
The CCI team also prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to family to bear the irreparable loss. Those who were present in the meeting include Anil Gupta Sr. Vice-President, Rajeev Gupta Jr. Vice President, Gaurav Gupta Secretary General and Rajesh Gupta Secretary.
