Mankotia seeks high level probe into irregularities in Devika Project
5/22/2021 12:03:24 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, May 21: Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the half-burnt dead bodies were washed away in Devika few days back which has happened for the first time in the history of Udhampur, adding that the incident was the result of the loot in the ongoing works of Devika project on which the administration is completely silent.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mankotia sought high level probe into the irregularities in the Devika Project. He said that single rain exposed the claims of the administration.
Mankotia said that in recently machinery had come for the Oxygen plant in Udhampur Hospital, which was returned overnight.
Taking a dig at the administration, he said that the officers are constantly playing with the lives of the people which will never be tolerated. Mankotia said that the number of deaths is constantly increasing, the biggest reason for which since last year, neither ventilators have been commissioned in the hospital nor oxygen plant has been started yet, for which the administration is completely responsible. He asked the question, why there was a delay in starting the Oxygen plant? He said that the second wave of Corona had arrived in other states before Jammu, Kashmir and Udhampur, yet the administration waited for the death of the people which is very unfortunate. Mankotia warned that if the administration did not improve its working system, it would be strongly opposed playing with the lives of the people will not be allowed.
