Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: R.L.Kaith, chief advisor of Youth Development Committee (Recognized Body of Batwal Community) today in his message to the general public said, "If COVID-19 panedemic is spreading in your rural area, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as social distancing, wearing double mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands time and again, coughing into a bent elbow or tissue and getting vaccinated with first and second dose. If you do it all, then we will definitely be able to defeat this dangerous virus". Kaith further said, "In the world, during the 1918 influenza pandemic, 20 to 50 million people died, the vast majority between the months of September and December. Schools and movie theaters were shut and public gatherings banned. Citizens were fined if they were caught in public without masks and charged with disturbing the peace. Consequently, the mortality rate was just one-eighth during the peak of the pandemic. By March, 1919, the flu pandemic came to an end, as those that were infected either died or developed immunity".
