3 Covid-19 critical patients made to wait for ambulance from morning till evening | | | Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, May 22: In a glaring example of poor management District Hospital (DH) Udhampur made three critical COVID-19 patients wait from morning to evening before arranging a ambulance for them to ferry them to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for better treatment. Sources informed that three COVID positive patients were referred to GMC Jammu as their condition deterred here and there referral documentation was completed by 11 am today and informed to them within soon refers to GMC Jammu Due to non-availability of ambulance one reached MH hospital of his own other two were awaiting the ambulance,” sources maintained. However, till 5:30 pm these patients were awaiting vehicle by 108 Ambulance Service while about three to four ambulances remained stranded at DH Udhampur. When contacted DH Superintendent Udhampur Vijay Raina informed that there was no bed vacant at GMC Jammu that is why the shifting of the patient was delayed. The concerned Nodal Officer at GMC when contacted said that all is well and sufficient number of beds were vacant to accommodate patients. |
