| GDC Doda organizes online live interaction on world biodiversity day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: A live interaction on the occasion of World Biodiversity Day-2021 was organized by Department of Environmental Sciences, GDC Doda in collaboration with Department of Zoology under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college.
The interaction was based on the theme “We are part of Solution”. This event was organized under the patronage of Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, Principal of the College. He enlightened the audience with his thought-provoking audio message based on the current theme and also advised the students to exercise special care during the present covid-19 pandemic.
Ajaz Ahmed Wani, Head, Department of Zoology and Coordinator IQAC, Doda delivered the keynote address. He made the students aware of the efforts we need to make to take care of biodiverse resources. Prof. Arvind Kumar, Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, GDC Mahanpur delivered the guest lecture and acquainted the students about global, regional and local biodiversity issues. He shared some success stories in the field of biodiversity management and also interacted with the students to satiate their curiosity.
The event was managed by Sumit Kotwal, Purnima Manhas and Akrity Parihar, faculty members of the Department of Environmental Sciences, GDC Doda.
