5/22/2021 11:47:41 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 22: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail applications of two Rohingyas who prepared fake documents of Indian citizenship. Rejecting the bail applications of Abdul Ghafoor and Ashiqur Rahman, Additional Sessions Judge Jammu observed that Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu came to know from reliable sources that Ashiqur and Ghafoor are the residents of Myanmar and presently residing at Bathindi Rahim Nagar, Narwal Jammu and have fraudulently prepared some documents like Passport, Aadhar Card, Pan Card etc by impersonating themselves to be the citizens of country.
An FIR No. 71/2021 for commission of offence u/Sec.419/465/467/468/471 IPC was registered against the accused and the investigation was commenced. Both the accused persons could not give satisfactory reply about the possession of these documents during questioning. Statements of the prosecution witnesses were also recorded besides other formalities. The investigation proved that both the accused persons are residents of Myanmar Burma and entered in India without any valid permission and are residing illegally while impersonating themselves as citizens of India . The accused persons were found involved in the commission of offence u/Sec 12(b) of Passport Act and 14-A Foreign Act along with offence u/Sec 419/465/467/468/471 IPC. Additional Sessions Judge observed that both the accused persons are not the Indian nationals and are involved in a very serious offence which carries life imprisonment. With these observations, the court rejected the bail applications.
