Provide adequate immediate relief to mango farmers: Apni Party | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 23: Apni Party District President Jammu rural Pushap Dev Kumar Uppal has taken stock of the problems being faced by the farmers and mango orchardists of Akhnoor blocks in respect of damage and losses caused by the recent devastating storm which occurred few days ago where in their 70%fruit has been shattered and destroyed by the storm. Moreover it is the only source of income of the farmers as major chunk of their land holdings is under mango plantation and it adds to the economy of the state being a mango bowl of Jammu & Kashmir. It is very difficult to come out of this huge loss in these days of sky rocketing prices in the current pandemic situation. Uppal expressed serious concern over the immense loss incurred by the mango growers of Akhnoor , Mera Mandarin, Balwal Brahmna , Nagrota ,Dansal and Chowki Chaura blocks respectively. Further he urged Lt. Governor’s administration to provide adequate immediate relief to the farmers on most urgent basis as it is the prime obligation of the government to resolve the sufferings of the farmers. Accordingly the concerned govt agencies be directed to do the needful at an earliest to revive this most vital farming industry to save the hapless farmers. Hope the appeal is treated as petition on behalf of the farmers. |
