SRINAGAR, May 23: As 4,956 Corona Virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours or so the COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 81.15 percent. The union territory reported 3,308 new cases of virus with 51 deaths being reported as well. Jammu district reported 22 Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district six deaths, Baramulla district four deaths, Rajouri, Samba and Shopian districts three deaths each, Udhampur, Reasi and Budgam districts two deaths each and Kathua, Poonch, Anantnag & Kulgam districts one death each. Srinagar district 512 cases followed by Jammu district 447 cases, Budgam district 401 cases, Kupwara district 265 cases, Baramulla district 239 cases, Pulwama district 160 cases, Kulgam district 159 cases, Anantnag district 150 cases, Ganderbal district 127 cases, Bandipora district 111 cases, Kathua district 98 cases, Rajouri district 96 cases, Samba district 93 cases, Udhampur district 77 cases, Doda district 75 cases¸ Poonch district 74 cases, Ramban district 71 cases, Shopian district 63 cases, Reasi district 61 cases and Kishtwar district 29 cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 3,308 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 1,121 from Jammu division and 2,187 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 70,621. Also 51 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 34 from Jammu division and 17 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 4,956 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,883 from Jammu division and 3,073 from Kashmir Division. Out of 2, 70,621 positive cases, 47,437 are active positive, 2, 19,620 have recovered and 3,564 have died; 1,703in Jammu division and 1,861 in Kashmir division. Out of 81, 88,640 test results available, 79, 21,327 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 18,101 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 74,102 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 49,136 in isolation and 1, 33,759 in home surveillance. Besides, 17, 57,591 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 62,159 positive cases, 6,243 active positive, 55,185 recovered, 731 deaths; Baramulla has 19,852 positive cases, with 2,842 active positive, 16,770 recovered, 240 deaths; Budgam has 18,674 positive cases, 4,547 active positive, 13,963 recovered, 164 deaths; Anantnag has 13,174 positive cases, 4,249 active positive, 8,776 recovered, 149 deaths; Pulwama has 11,931 positive cases, 2,204 active positive, 9,575 recovered, 152 deaths. “Kupwara has 10,683 positive cases, 1,928 active positive, 8,622 recovered, 133 deaths; Kulgam has 8,990 positive cases, 2,545 active positive, 6,355 recovered, 90 deaths; Bandipora has 7,880 positive cases, 1,175 active positive, 6,599 recovered, 83 deaths; Ganderbal has 7,785 positive cases, 1,175 active positive, 6,545 recovered, 65 deaths and Shopian has 4,969 positive cases, 1,103 active positive, 3,812 recovered, 54 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 47,687 positive cases, 7,105 active positive, 39,625 recovered, 957 deaths; Udhampur has 10,063 positive cases, 1,528 active positive, 8,423 recovered, 112 deaths; Rajouri has 8,993 positive cases, 3,181 active positive, 5,656 recovered, 156 deaths; Kathua has 8,286 positive cases, 1,176 active positive, 6,994 recovered, 116 deaths; Samba has 6,410 positive cases, 2,401 active positive, 3,910 recovered, 99 deaths. “Doda has 5,150 positive cases, 1,101 active positive, 3,968 recovered, 81 deaths; Reasi has 4,911 positive cases, 624 active positive, 4,253 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 4,749 positive cases, 1,031 active positive, 3,643 recovered, 75 deaths; Ramban has 4,509 positive cases, 904 active positive, 3,559 recovered, 46 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,766 positive cases, 352 active positive, 3,387 recovered, 27 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 70,621 positive cases, 21,282 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
