JAMMU, May 25: Foiling a bid to smuggle psychotropic drugs, the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) today seized a large quantity of Chlorophenamine Maleate Codiene Phosphate, also called Corex, from the Bypass Road at Channi, Jammu. According to ANTF spokesperson, the Task Force on the basis of inputs laid nakas at various places, intercepted a truck bearing registration No PB08 CP5896 at Channi and recovered 6000 bottles of Scheduled Psychotropic Drugs. “Driver of the truck Karan Kumar and Co-driver Yashpal, both the residents of Nawashehar, Punjab have been arrested. Total 6000 bottles packed in 50 boxes were recovered and seized on the spot. This is one of the biggest seizures of such drugs in JK UT in recent times”, the spokesperson said, adding that ANTF is investigating further details of this inter-state drug racket including the forward and backward linkages of these drug smugglers.
