SRINAGAR, May 25: As 3,623 Corona Virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours the COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 82.38 percent. The union territory reported 2,964 new cases following which the positive cases reached 275822; with 53 fresh deaths the death toll reached 3,662.
Srinagar district reported 487 cases followed by Jammu district 438 cases, Budgam district 266 cases, Anantnag district 223 cases, Baramulla district 220 cases, Pulwama district 169 cases, Kathua district 117 cases, Ramban district 110 cases, Kulgam district 109 cases, Udhampur district 102 cases, Rajouri district 99 cases, Ganderbal district 97 cases, Kupwara district 91 cases, Bandipora district 85 cases, Samba district 84 cases, Shopian district 72 cases, Doda district 62 cases, Poonch district 58 cases, Reasi district 48 cases and Kishtwar district 27 cases.
Jammu district reported 18 fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by Srinagar district eight deaths, Budgam district five deaths, Kathua and Anantnag districts four deaths each, Udhampur and Rajouri districts three deaths each, Doda and Samba districts two deaths each and Ramban, Baramulla, Pulwama & Bandipora districts one death each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 2,964 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 1,145 from Jammu division and 1,819 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 75,822. Also 53 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 33 from Jammu division and 20 from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 3,623 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,426 from Jammu division and 2,197 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 75,822 positive cases, 44,918 are active positive, 2, 27,242 have recovered and 3,662 have died; 1,765 in Jammu division and 1,897 in Kashmir division.
Out of 83, 11,463 test results available, 80, 35,641 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 43,076 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 74,881 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 44,918 in isolation and 1, 41,937 in home surveillance. Besides, 17, 77,678 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 62,955 positive cases, 5,800 active positive, 56,410 recovered, 745 deaths; Baramulla has 20,175 positive cases, 2,926 active positive, 17,005 recovered, 244 deaths; Budgam has 19,161 positive cases, 4,200 active positive, 14,792 recovered, 169 deaths; Anantnag has 13,503 positive cases, 3,911 active positive, 9,439 recovered, 153 deaths; Pulwama has 12,177 positive cases, 2,177 active positive, 9,843 recovered, 157 deaths.
“Kupwara has 10,978 positive cases, 1,849 active positive, 8,994 recovered, 135 deaths; Kulgam has 9,268 positive cases, 2,339 active positive, 6,839 recovered, 90 deaths; Bandipora has 8,042 positive cases, 985 active positive, 6,973 recovered, 84 deaths; Ganderbal has 7,973 positive cases, 1,175 active positive, 6,732 recovered, 66 deaths and Shopian has 5,067 positive cases, 1,032 active positive, 3,881 recovered, 54 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 48,566 positive cases, 6,976 active positive, 40,596 recovered, 994 deaths; Udhampur has 10,220 positive cases, 1,251 active positive, 8,854 recovered, 115 deaths; Rajouri has 9,158 positive cases, 2,852 active positive, 6,144 recovered, 162 deaths; Kathua has 8,452 positive cases, 1,059 active positive, 7,273 recovered, 120 deaths; Samba has 6,525 positive cases, 2,273 active positive, 4,150 recovered, 102 deaths.
“Doda has 5,255 positive cases, 1,128 active positive, 4,043 recovered, 84 deaths; Reasi has 5,007 positive, 535 active positive, 4,438 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 4,834 positive cases, 1,038 active positive, 3,720 recovered, 76 deaths; Ramban has 4,666 positive cases, 971 active positive, 3,647 recovered, 48 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,840 positive cases, 341 active positive, 3,469 recovered, 30 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 75,822 positive cases, 21,350 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
