| Excise sleuths recover 4200 kgs of Lahan in raids | | |

Kathua, May 27: The Excise department destroyed 4200 Kgs of Lahan during different raids in order to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of illicit liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
On the directions of Excise Commissioner, Rahul Sharma and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Kusum Sharma, a team of Excise Eradication/Enforcement Wing led by ETO, Eradication Narinder Singh Anthal and comprising of inspectors Gagandeep Singh and Faizan Ahmed Sheikh, SI Kulbushan Singh, Karamat Ali, Excise Guard Shahbaz Khan raided Ghatti & adjoining areas of Kathua district. In the process, 4200 Kgs of Lahan, raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious to health was recovered by the raiding team from state land & later destroyed on spot.
