SRINAGAR, June 13: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 93.73 percent as 1,965 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 774 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 07,412; with 12 fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,186. Srinagar district reported 149 new cases followed by Budgam district 83, Kupwara district 64, Anantnag district 59, Doda district 55, Pulwama district 49 cases, Baramulla, Bandipora and Jammu districts 38 cases each, Rajouri district 36, Kulgam district 35, Poonch district 30, Ganderbal and Ramban districts 22 cases each, Kishtwar district 20 cases, Shopian, Kathua, Samba and Reasi districts eight cases each and Udhampur district four cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 774 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 229 from Jammu division and 545 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 07,412. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, seven from Jammu division and five from Kashmir division. Moreover, 1,965 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 698 from Jammu division and 1,267 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 76.05 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 07,412 positive cases, 15,081 are active positive, 2, 88,145 have recovered and 4186 have died; 2,037 in Jammu division and 2,149 in Kashmir division. Out of 91, 73,077 test results available, 88, 65,665 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 36,555 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 62,794 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15,081 in isolation and 1, 46,783 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 07,711 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 68,228 positive cases, 2,194 active positive, 65,220 recovered, 814 deaths; Baramulla has 22,688 positive cases, 1,361 active positive, 21,054 recovered, 273 deaths; Budgam has 21,829 positive cases, 1,068 active positive, 20,562 recovered, 199 deaths; Anantnag has 15,522 positive cases, 973 active positive, 14,357 recovered, 192 deaths; Pulwama has 14,414 positive cases, 1,267 active positive, 12,967 recovered, 180 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,262 positive cases, 864 active positive, 12,245 recovered, 153 deaths; Kulgam has 10,702 positive cases, 700 active positive, 9,893 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,287 positive cases, 458 active positive, 8,756 recovered, 73deaths; Bandipora has 8,989 positive cases, 396 active positive, 8,495 recovered, 98deaths and Shopian has 5,499 positive cases, 254 active positive, 5,187 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,003 positive cases, 1,852 active positive, 49,035 recovered, 1,116 deaths; Udhampur has 10,988 positive cases, 249 active positive, 10,608 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,374 positive cases, 519 active positive, 9,651 recovered, 204 deaths; Kathua has 9,065 positive cases, 128 active positive, 8,788 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 6,992 positive cases, 295 active positive, 6,580 recovered, 117 deaths. “Doda has 6,377 positive cases, 995 active positive, 5,286 recovered, 96 deaths; Poonch has 5,843 positive cases, 847 active positive, 4,910 recovered, 86 deaths; Ramban has 5,604 positive cases, 345 active positive, 5,201 recovered, 58 deaths; Reasi has 5,504 positive cases, 149 active positive, 5,314 recovered, 41 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,242 positive cases, 167 active positive, 4,036 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 07,412 positive cases, 21,859 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
