Covid Care Centers in every Panchayat: LG’s direction ignored in Reasi
6/14/2021 12:29:43 AM
Early Times Report

Reasi, June 13: No Covid Care Centers were set up in two Panchayats in Reasi district.
A team of Early Times visited Panchayat Ghar at Kotli Bajala in the district. It was designated as CCC but nothing was found there. When the team enquired about the center it was told that the CCC has been shifted to a nearby Government School. But when the team reached the school it found the gate locked. “No CCC was set up in the school. In fact no center was set up anywhere in our Panchayat,” said, a local Dalip Kumar.
“No one came to school to place any beds or set up any other facility.. If anyone falls sick we shift him to Katra. No CCC was set up here,” Kumar said.
Another Panchayat office at Seela was locked and no one was present there. Ex-Srapanch of Panchayat Seela, Preetam Singh, said, “We had heard that CCCs will be set up in every panchayat. But in our Panchayat no center was set up.”
“We don’t know why no Covid Care Centre was set up in our village. It seems they didn’t find it necessary to set up the facility here. No arrangement was made. In our village people don’t have separate bathrooms and rooms. If anyone turns positive, he cannot be kept inside a home.”
It’s in place to mention here that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had directed the officials to set up 5-bedded Covid Care Centers in every Panchayat and Rs one lakh was sanctioned for each Panchayat, but the ground report from two Panchayats indicate that LG’s directions have not been implemented.
