ABRSM organises two days virtual media workshop

Jammu, June 18: “Understanding the importance of Media in the present era, Teachers fraternity need to come ahead to counter the fake narrative in the society” said, K G Suresh, Vice Chancellor, Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University. He was addressing a Virtual Media Workshop organized by Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM). The workshop was presided over by Prof. J P Singhal, National President of ABRSM and began with the Sarasvati Vandhna and the Organisational Song of ABRSM. Hundreds of Educationists and members of Media wings of different different states from across the country participated in the Media Workshop.
K G Suresh said that Teachers being the most elite class in the society need to keep themselves informed about the happenings around and dedicate themselves to counter the fake narratives, so that the common masses should not be misled. He further said that the wrong narrative is being set in the country, and we need to counter it by setting a new narrative.
He said that a lot of constructive works are being done in the country that needs to be highlighted to construct a new narrative. He emphasized on the special offline workshops for teachers for strengthening the Media wing of ABRSM. Likewise, he discussed some basic tit bits of Electronic Media and how Media can be used in a better way.
We need to educate the masses about the constructive works being done by the Teachers' community and some NGOs in the society, and this can be done only by highlighting success stories by using all means of mass media. He added.
Earlier, inaugurating the Two days virtual Media workshop, Prafulla Ketkar - Editor, Organiser Weekly highlighted the importance of Print media and revealed how print media can change the public opinion.
By quoting examples of various stories which attracted international attention and changed the public opinion internationally, he said that ABRSM being the leading Teachers organization must prepare teachers as regular column writers. He also talked about the need of the media houses and asked the Teachers community to be updated and turn the organizational events into an opportunity.
Shivanand Sindankera, National General Secretary of ABRSM in his address said that ABRSM has constituted Media wings in all the States and UT’s to highlight the organizational activities effectively. He asked the delegates to equip themselves with the modern technology being used in the Media, so that organisational activities be highlighted more effectively.
