SRINAGAR, June 18: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 95.38 percent as 1,171 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 671 new cases of virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 10,688; with eight fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,234. Srinagar district reported 133 new cases followed by Baramulla district 66, Budgam district 60, Jammu district 53, Doda district 46, Kupwara district 42, Ramban district 36, Pulwama district 34, Bandipora district 33, Kulgam district 29, Anantnag and Rajouri districts 24 cases each, Ganderbal and Kishtwar districts 20 cases each, Poonch district 16, Kathua district 12, Udhampur district 11, Reasi district six, Shopian district four and Samba district two cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 671 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 226 from Jammu division and 445 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 10,688. Also, eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Moreover, 1,171 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 548 from Jammu division and 623 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 77.92 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 10,688 positive cases, 10,094 are active positive, 2, 96,360 have recovered and 4,234 have died; 2,062 in Jammu division and 2,172 in Kashmir division. Out of 94, 03,958 test results available, 90, 93,270 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 92,522 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 43,061 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 10,094 in isolation and 1, 80,690 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 54,443 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 68,895 positive cases, 1,632 active positive, 66,448 recovered, 815 deaths; Baramulla has 22,953 positive cases, 781 active positive, 21,896 recovered, 276 deaths; Budgam has 22,182 positive cases, 813 active positive, 21,169 recovered, 200 deaths; Anantnag district has 15,717 positive cases, 601 active positive, 14,921 recovered, 195 deaths; Pulwama has 14,624 positive cases, 983 active positive, 13,456 recovered, 185 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,502 positive cases, 648 active positive, 12,696 recovered, 158 deaths; Kulgam has 10,820 positive cases, 400 active positive, 10,309 recovered, 111 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,381 positive cases, 265 active positive, 9,040 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,108 positive cases, 340 active positive, 8,670 recovered, 98 deaths and Shopian has 5,526 positive cases, 88 active positive, 5,380 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,187 positive cases, 1,087 active positive, 49,981 recovered, 1,119 deaths; Udhampur has 11,053 positive cases, 161 active positive, 10,761 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,525 positive cases, 301 active positive, 10,012 recovered, 212 deaths; Kathua has 9,133 positive cases, 100 active positive, 8,884 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,022 positive cases, 161 active positive, 6,743 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,554 positive cases, 816 active positive, 5,634 recovered, 104 deaths; Poonch has 5,926 positive cases, 374 active positive, 5,465 recovered, 87 deaths; Ramban has 5,714 positive cases, 293 active positive, 5,361 recovered, 60 deaths; Reasi has 5,557 positive cases, 112 active positive, 5,403 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,309 positive cases, 138 active positive, 4,131 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 10,688 positive cases in J&K, 21,918 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
