GDC Poonch holds International Webinar on ICT, Covid-19

Poonch, June 20: The Department of Computer Science of Government Degree College Poonch in collaboration with Sheikh’s Computer Association Technology Poonch and Attitude Change International Dharhal Malkan, J&K, held an International Webinar on “Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Covid-19” here today.
Principal of College Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah presided over this one-day International Webinar in which six resource persons, three from abroad and three from India gave deliberations on the different aspects of ICT during the covid-19 pandemic.
In his welcome address, Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah highlighted the role of ICT especially during the challenging times of Covid-19 pandemic. He appraised the role of ICT in continuing the life when physically the world was caged in homes and expressed hope how judicial use of technology can contribute towards attaining quality education and transforming lives.
Dr. M. Tanveer, Associate Professor & Ramanujan Fellow, Department of Mathematics IIT Indore delivered the keynote address on Machine Learning & Applications to Biomedical Data. In another keynote address Dr. Mohana Kumar Patel Associate Professor University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) Bengaluru detailed about Metabolite Imaging of Medicinal Plants.
Other resource persons who delivered lead lectures were Dr. Christian Bartolf, President Gandhi Information Centre Berlin, Germany who gave presentation on Preliminary Thoughts on Mahatma Gandhi & ICT, Dr. Muneer Karama, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Maths, Palestine Polytechnic University, Hebron, Palestine spoke on Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) and the Ministry of Telecom and Information Technology, Dr. Waziri Garba Dahiru Associate Professor Department of Pathology College of Medical Sciences Ahmedu Bello University Zaira, Nigeria deliberated upon ICT & Covid-19 in Africa: Challenges & opportunities, whereas Dr. Mudasir Manzoor Kirmani Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist Department of computer science SKAUST-Kashmir, delivered talk on ICT & Digital Learning.
