Jammu, June 20: Hari Singh Chib, President District Congress Committee (DCC) distributed free ration to the poor and needy in connection with Rahul Gandhi’s birthday at Raipur Domana Assembly segment here today. The programme was organized on the directions of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and President Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ghulam Ahmed Mir. During a simple but impressive programme, Hari Singh Chib along with Corporator of the area Rajni Bala provided multiple ration items including flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil and sugar to the widows and poor families dwelling in this area. While praying for the longevity of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the District Congress Committee President, Hari Singh Chib said that Congress has an established history of standing with the people of this nation right from the pre independence times when it led the nation’s freedom struggle. Reiterating his party’s commitment to serve the people whenever required, he said that the workers and activists of the party are working on ground to provide every type of assistance to the common people especially the poor and needy during the ongoing pandemic.
Chib said that the party workers have distributed thousands of food packets among the needy and poor besides serving food to the attendants of patients at several government hospitals across Jammu. He added that besides providing ration, the workers and activists of the party also donated blood during various blood donation camps He assured that Congress activists shall continue such endeavours devotedly till the Corona crisis is overcome.
Hari Singh Chib said that the birthday of the leader Shri Rahul Gandhi is being observed as a low key affair in consonance with the decision taken by the Party High Command keeping in view the miseries of people due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He along with others including Som Nath Sharma, Virender Mehta and Tarun Vaid besides others present on the occasion prayed for good health, longevity and prosperity of the party leader Rahul Gandhi.
