6/21/2021 11:30:23 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, June 21: Reiterating the demand to make Landar-Pancheri-Bhamaag area as separate assembly constituency, former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia led a massive protest at Pancheri bus stand today. He also visited Landar, Katti, Latiyar, Kultiyar, Pancheri and Meer during his 3-day long tour.
While addressing the media, Mankotia said that unless Landar-Pancheri-Bhamag is not made a separate assembly constituency, the area cannot develop because it is a far flung hilly area, comes under the three assembly constituencies Reasi, Udhampur and Chenani.
Mankotia further said that now the time has come that all the people will have to fight unitedly so that in the coming time the people of this area can get their rights. Mankotia urged the members of delimitation commission to visit in this area and take the opinion of the people, so that the people living in this far flung hilly area can get every facility in aspects of Schools, Hospitals, Roads, Water Supply, Power Supply etc like as any other constituency. Mankotia said that if a Legislative Assembly can be constituted on 14 thousand voters in Gurez area of Kashmir, then why this hilly area whose voter is more than 40 thousand cannot be given a separate Legislative Assembly status,
Mankotia urged members of delimitation commission to make Landar-Pancheri-Bhamag area as separate assembly constituency so that the development can reach at grass root level of this area.
On the occasion local leader Surjeet Singh besides Sarpanchs, Panchs also spoke on the occasion.
