SRINAGAR, June 21: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 96.14 percent as 1,224 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. Following 362 new cases the total number of positive cases reached 3, 12,156; with 10 fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,262. Srinagar district reported 79 new cases followed by Anantnag district 44, Budgam district 37, Doda district 27, Kupwara district 22, Pulwama district 21, Kulgam district 18, Rajouri district 15, Baramulla district 14, Ganderbal and Ramban districts 13 each, Bandipora district 11, Udhampur district 10, Jammu and Poonch districts nine each, Kishtwar and Reasi districts eight each, Shopian district two and Kathua & Samba districts one each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 362 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 101 from Jammu division and 261 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 12,156. Also, 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, three from Jammu division and seven from Kashmir division. Moreover, 1,224 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 264 from Jammu division and 960 from Kashmir division. One new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 25. Besides this, 79.31 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 12,156 positive cases, 7,759 are active positive, 3, 00,135 have recovered and 4,262 have died; 2,074 in Jammu division and 2,188 in Kashmir division. Out of 95, 37,386 test results available, 92, 25,230 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 24,018 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 35,242 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,759 in isolation and 1, 92,276 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 84,479 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,227 positive cases, 1,290 active positive, 67,117 recovered, 820 deaths; Baramulla has 23,025 positive cases, 536 active positive, 22,213 recovered, 276 deaths; Budgam has 22,332 positive cases, 638 active positive, 21,943 recovered, 201 deaths; Anantnag has 15,845 positive cases, 442 active positive, 15,206 recovered, 197 deaths; Pulwama has 14,700 positive cases, 621 active positive, 13,891 recovered, 188 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,578 positive cases, 543 active positive, 12,875 recovered, 160 deaths; Kulgam has 10,907 positive cases, 311 active positive, 10,483 recovered, 113 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,457 positive cases, 218 active positive, 9,163 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,170 positive cases, 244 active positive, 8,827 recovered, 99 deaths and Shopian has 5,536 positive cases, 40 active positive, 5,438 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,243 positive cases, 869 active positive, 50,250 recovered, 1124 deaths; Udhampur has 11,091 positive cases, 113 active positive, 10,847 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,565 positive cases, 254 active positive, 10,097 recovered, 214 deaths; Kathua has 9,156 positive cases, 88 active positive, 8,919 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,037 positive cases, 98 active positive, 6,821 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,645 positive cases, 688 active positive, 5,849 recovered, 108 deaths; Poonch has 5,978 positive cases, 318 active positive, 5,573 recovered, 87 deaths; Ramban has 5,743 positive cases, 216 active positive, 5,467 recovered, 60 deaths; Reasi has 5,579 positive cases, 108 active positive, 5,429 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,342 positive cases, 124 active positive, 4,177 recovered, 41 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 12,156 positive cases in J&K, 21,962 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
