Prejudice with Jammu innate trait of entities steering India: Tony
6/21/2021 11:30:27 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

RS PURA, June 21: Whether it is BJP in power at Centre or any other party, the fate of people of Jammu is same as they have to face discrimination with each and every government eyeing to appease Kashmiris, as if it was their innate trait to show more affection towards region on the other side of Pir Panchal.
This was stated by DDC Member Suchetgarh and Convener J&K DDC Forum, Taranjit Singh Tony in a handout issued to media persons here on Monday.
The DDC member raised serious concern over government again showing prejudice against the leadership of Jammu in the proposed All Party Meet as the numbers of political representatives being invited from Jammu are namesake and those from Kashmir are almost double. He said that it is strange that the BJP leadership never gets tired of calling Kashmiri politicians as ‘anti-nationals’ and even tagged their amalgam as ‘Gupkar-gang’ but when the time came to testify their call, the BJP government preferred to appease Kashmiri leadership and ignored Jammu leadership.
Tony said that why nine leaders from Kashmir and half from the Jammu region, when the government vowed number of times that it will end the hegemony of Kashmiri leaders in J&K. He said that it is appalling for the local BJP leaders that their stance against Kashmir-based parties is not considered by their party colleagues steering the country.
He demanded that government should ensure parity between both the regions and also invite DDC Members for the deliberations in the June 24 APM to be convened by the PM Narendra Modi.
The DDC member urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and remove this disparity before the commencement of the aforesaid meeting because there is no point in giving special treatment to the parties based in Kashmir.
He said people of Jammu feeling backstabbed and disparity continues in inviting J&K for talks in Delhi. He appealed to the Prime Minister to call equal number of members from Jammu and Kashmir besides each DDC member from both the regions to remove the disparity.
